Welcome OLGC families to a new year and a new school. We hope you all
had fun over the summer months. A special shout out to all the new
families that have joined our school and we hope you are settling in and
feeling welcomed.
As new co-chairs of your Catholic School Council (CSC),
we wanted to reach out to you all and let you know a little
about us.
We are Vicky Gray and Melodie Howard. We both have 2
children each in the school and we have both been part of
council for the past two years.
Taking this position, we hope to bring in some new ideas whilst
honoring the spirit and dedication of previous council
leaders. We would like to take this moment to thank Tracy Dion for
her role as chair of school council these past few years and wish her all
the best.
Thank you to all the encouragement we have received from families reaching out and supporting us in this role. We hope to do you proud.
What is School Council?
We are a team of parents working alongside representatives of the
school to:
-Provide the relationship between the school, students, and parents.
-Organize events and raise funds to support the achievements of
the students and the performance of the school.
-To represent the views of parents on matters affecting the education and welfare of the students.
We invite you all to come to our monthly meetings and become involved in any decisions or events that happen within our school.
Parent involvement is strongly encouraged in any form of support, whether it be an hour a month, running an event, volunteering when possible, we welcome any help you can give us. It truly takes a village to raise our children and we feel the parent’s involvement only enhances the wonderful work and support that all the teachers and staff at OLGC do for our kids.
We have a wonderful group of parents that are strongly involved so please come and make our team bigger and stronger.

We have a new Facebook account for school council which we encourage you to follow. We are hoping to use this page to keep you up to date with any social events, fundraising, Council meetings, lunches, and important dates to remember.
